Traditional broccoli salad recipes are usually loaded with regular mayonnaise and cheese. Delicious? Yes! Good for your heart? No!

Our version still gives you that creamy tang, but less calories and fat with the substitution of light mayo and low-fat yogurt.

Broccoli is a great source of fiber and vitamins, grapes and raisins add sweetness and the sunflower seeds provide some extra crunch, so what you have is the perfect go-to for summer!

Try adding some beans or sliced turkey to turn this side dish into a meal!


Ingredients:  XXXX

4 cups broccoli florets (cut small)
1 1/2 cups seedless grapes, halved
1 cup finely chopped celery
1 cup raisins
1/4 cup salted sunflower seed kernels (or whatever nuts or seeds you prefer)
1/3 cup light mayonnaise
1/4 cup plain fat-free yogurt
3 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon vinegar


Preparation:  XXXX

  1. Combine the first 5 ingredients in a large bowl.
  2. Combine mayonnaise and remaining ingredients, whisk to dissolve sugar.
  3. Pour dressing over broccoli mix and toss well.
  4. Chill well before serving.
