Fact Check: Leg pain is normal as we age.

That’s false according to Ashish Raju, M.D., a vascular surgeon at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center.

"Any kind of pain is abnormal," explained Dr. Raju. "When you have pain, it means something is wrong in the body, and it is usually caused by some kind of injury."

As we age there is something that may be happening in our arteries, veins, muscles or bones causing us this pain.

"When you have leg pain, it is a sign you should get it checked out and see what is causing the pain," added Dr. Raju.
