Brooks Michael is an adolescent health educator for Carilion Clinic’s Adolescent and Student Health Services. She has served in this role for the last 12 years and is also the prevention education coordinator for the Prevention Council of Roanoke County.
Brooks works with schools, parents, teens and the community at large in a variety of settings, such as after-school programs, classroom presentations and health fairs. She serves on six youth- focused community coalitions and boards that focus on the healthy development of youth.
Brooks graduated from Salem High School and Virginia Tech with a bachelor’s degree in business. She then completed her teaching certification through the University of Virginia.
After living in various locations, such as Atlanta and Charlotte, Brooks now resides in Salem with her husband Chris, a Rhode Island native who works for Member One Federal Credit Union, and their four children. She also coaches soccer, serves on various boards and is dedicated to the healthy development of youth.
